THE STORY BEHIND THE OBJECT.

WHY IT MATTERS

"John Holmes: The Early Years," in a Marquis pictorial storybook for the gay market. The most famous straight porn star of his day, crossing over, and collectors of both love it.

OBJECT STORY

A Marquis picture storybook with John Holmes on the bill. "John Holmes: The Early Years" is right there on the cover, and yes, it's that John Holmes. He's the most famous cock of the decade, turning up in a gay book.

The cover sets the tone: a bearded guy in a studded belt and jeans, and a mustached man sitting on a toilet in a public restroom stall. Inside it's a mix of color and black-and-white with first-person stories. It's a real crossover piece for anyone who collects Holmes.
