Archive Daddy holds a working collection of vintage gay print. Nothing donated to it is ever sold, which means it is here to be used: lent for exhibitions and teaching, digitized for publication, and searched for research. This page covers who can borrow, on what terms, and what reproductions cost.

UNIVERSITIES
Colleges, libraries and special collections
For teaching, seminars and exhibitions. We can supply objects, digital copies, or both.
MUSEUMS
Museums and galleries
For exhibitions and public programmes, with a condition report at both ends.
NONPROFITS
Queer-focused 501(c)(3) organisations
Community shows, archives projects and events. The handling fee is usually waived.
RESEARCHERS
Writers, academics and documentary producers
Digitizing on demand and research time, without travelling to Portland.
03 / LOAN TERMS
HOW A LOAN WORKS.
A written agreement. Every loan runs on a signed agreement naming the objects, the dates and the venue.
A fixed period. Loans run for a set term, renewable by agreement. We need six weeks notice.
A condition report. Objects are photographed before they leave and again when they come back.
Insurance by the borrower. Cover at a stated value, wall to wall, for the whole loan period.
Shipping and crating by the borrower. We pack; you pay the freight both ways.
A credit line. Courtesy of the Archive Daddy Collection on any display, catalogue or publication.
Handling fee. $250–750 depending on the size of the loan. Waived for small queer nonprofits in exchange for the credit line and joint promotion.

WHAT A DIGITAL EDITION COSTS.
We supply high-resolution digital copies and the provenance that goes with them. Fees cover our time and the delivery, scaled to how the image will be used.

Send the title, issue, or subject you are looking for, what you plan to do with it, and your deadline. If you are an institution, include your department and, for nonprofits, your EIN so we can confirm tax-exempt status. We reply within two business days.
