The story
The summer of 1976 issue of In Touch has a cover line that reads like a gay syllabus: Christopher Isherwood in a candid exchange, Wakefield Poole, the director who took gay porn into mainstream theaters with Boys in the Sand, and Patricia Nell Warren on The Front Runner, the novel a generation of men passed hand to hand. It also gave you four big nude features and a Bob Buck centerfold, because In Touch never thought you had to choose.
The international cover prices show how far a Los Angeles gay magazine was travelling by the mid-seventies, and the back cover is a full-color Trade!Mark ad for Gallagher P.F.C., with dog tags, fatigues and an 8mm film by mail order from Hyde Street. Literature, politics and dirty movies, all under one staple.
