The story
The western was gay porn's favorite costume long before anyone said "cowboy fantasy" out loud, and NOVA played it straight-faced. "Hayracker," NC 1031, puts Scott Allen and Kevin Hayes on a ranch where the foreman finds a hand asleep in the hay, decides discipline should coincide with his own lusty needs, and the laggard takes his medicine like a man who wants it all. Hats, boots, hay bales and sunlight do the rest.
NOVA's Special Release booklets were sold cheap, at $1.50, and they worked like a film catalogue you could hold in one hand: a code number, a cast and a plot written to make you want the reel. The Gunslingers is the late-seventies western at its most cheerful, with the red-and-black NOVA star wrapped around it like a saloon sign.
