Front: light soiling and scattered small dark specks in the cream margins on both sides of the figure, faint grey darkening along the left spine edge, the marbled title and price bands are bright with only light rubbing at the edges. Back: the last photo (assumed to be the back cover) shows a small brown smudge in the left margin beside the arm at mid-height, a tiny white nick at the top edge right of center, and light darkening along the right edge; otherwise clean; a second small chip on the right edge near the top corner; a second small chip on the right edge near the top corner. Inside: the two-page spread photographed is clean and evenly printed with light handling only, no tears or writing visible.
The story

The cover is pure sword-and-sandal fantasy: a bearded strongman with his tunic slung off one shoulder, a studded belt cinched tight and leather cuffs on both wrists. Inside, Stan Ridley, a guitar-playing Texan living in San Francisco who likes rock and roll and motorcycles, poses nude in open country for photographer Jim Hills.

Across the page, William "Billy" Watts of Newton, Massachusetts, shot while he was a Marine at Camp Pendleton, sits on his heels with his back to you and 17.25-inch biceps on the record. AMG follows him with a dead-serious essay on somatotyping that ends by noting the Marines prefer the muscular type, and a blond bodybuilder in a posing strap holds down the back cover.
