The story

Choicemen treats its models the way a good bar treats its regulars, by name. Dan Roberts, Rex Allen and Mike Savage open page 3, Mike in nothing but white tube socks in front of a row of hanging shirts, and by page 51 Butch Umbenhauer is stretched across a bed with his hand exactly where you'd want it. In between, George Brinkley sits on a stool in an open shirt, John Little keeps his big black boots on, Frank Perkins shows off his tattoos and Greg Harris brings the chest hair.

The cover takes it outdoors, a blond and a dark-haired man pressed together against a wooden fence, the dark one's mouth at the blond's neck, under the line "Express Yourself! Tell Us What You Think!" The back cover goes full color again for Bob Danforth soaping up in a tiled shower, John Powers on a sunny balcony and Biff Addison on a rumpled sheet, with the reassurance that all pictures were "posed by Professional Models."

Why it matters

There's no publisher and no date, just a six-dollar cover price and a caption under every man, so it works as a field guide if you collect by model name. The page numbers printed on these spreads run to at least 51, so there are a lot of men in here.
