The story

Blueboy sold itself as the national magazine about men, and this issue goes straight for the biceps. Arnold Schwarzenegger gets the cover line, and inside he sprawls on the grass at Venice Beach, swings a dumbbell and poses under the studio lights in a spread captioned "From the gym to the photographer's studio."

Between the muscle there's gay life as it was lived that year: men coming to terms with their churches, how to survive est, whether everyone in Munich is macho, and a Lovers Horoscope illustrated by Fitzgerald and shot by Vance. The ads are half the fun, from the Bourbon Pub & Parade Disco, open 24 hours at 801 Bourbon St. in New Orleans, to Bluenotes offering an alternative to cruising, to Blueboy Fashions' terry velour "Threesome" on the back cover.
