Condition report

Good. A clean, crisp copy with a bright black-and-white cover and sharp edges, and inside pages that have only mellowed to a warm tone in places. Every mark is in the photos.

Front: clean and bright, with crisp white type on the black masthead, sharp corners and no visible creases, tears or stains; only a couple of tiny dark specks in the pool area at lower right. Back: the last photo (full-page Guy Madison shot, no page number) appears to be the back cover; it is clean with sharp edges and just a few faint specks along the right edge. Inside: pages 21, 22 and 23 (photographed sideways) are clean, with page 23's photo printed soft and grainy as issued; the Etienne drawings on pages 14 and 15 sit on paper with a light, even warm tone, and there is a small gray mark in the lower center margin of page 14 that looks like part of the printed artist signature; pages 30 and 31 are clean with light handling only.
The story

Page 21 opens with a call to arms, "An opportunity for those who believe in their right to possess nude photos to join in a fight," on behalf of New York photographer Al Urban, whose negatives New York City police took "without benefit of any search warrant." Beside it, AMG photo WC-11-C stages a "rumble" over a stolen cycle, with John Krivos and Jim Meissinger, shirtless in jeans, working over a third man on a motorcycle.

Bruce Mars, "formerly of New York, now in Hollywood," gets his full measurements in a posing strap on page 22, and Freddie Carpenter, who "wants to be a singer," follows on page 23. Etienne of Kris Studios draws a plaid-shirted axeman for "November" and a letterman for "September," Frank Veitenheimer stretches out on a lounge chair, and the page 31 shower grid, "The Clean Ones" or "Gentlemen at Their Bath," names sixteen more men. Guy Madison mops the deck of a boat on the back cover.
