AD / OBJECT EDITORIAL RECORD

THE STORY BEHIND THE OBJECT.

WHY IT MATTERS

Dallas Ramsey in the pictorials, then news, poetry, travel, decorating tips, sex-law reform and personals. Avanti wanted to be your porn, your newspaper and your interior decorator, all at once.

OBJECT STORY

Avanti, Volume 1 No. 3. "The Finest Gay Entertainment Available Today!" This is an early gay magazine that didn't pick a lane: dirty duals and pictorials right next to news, poetry, a gay gourmet column, travel tips and a sex-law reform article.

Dallas Ramsey gets the opening feature, and there are six pages of personal ads. It's a real document of how we lived and read before Stonewall changed everything.
