Very Good

Very Good. Both covers are bright with good color, just some light toning at the edges and a little handling wear. Pretty great for something that's been around since the early '60s.

THE STORY BEHIND THE OBJECT.

WHY IT MATTERS

"Fotoantics, Fashion, Humor, Physical Culture," says ACME's cover. Sure it is. In the early '60s beefcake had to wear a disguise, and this one is barely wearing anything else.

OBJECT STORY

One dollar at the newsstand, and it came dressed as a lifestyle magazine: Go Guys billed itself as "Fotoantics / Fashion / Humor / Physical Culture." The cover is a full-color pirate gag on the dunes, with a Jolly Roger, a treasure chest spilling pearls, and two hairy-chested men in swim trunks and a skimpy red pouch, one with an eye patch and a cutlass.

The back cover keeps it on the beach, with two men in trunks tossing a ball in the surf. It's classic pre-Stonewall beefcake with nothing explicit. Both covers are bright, with light handling wear.
