Condition report

Good. A well-loved 1978 issue with a chipped outer edge and creased corners, but the cover color is still rich and the pages shown are bright and readable. Every mark is in the photos.

Flaws notedCover wear, Tears, Creases

PagesNot fully verified

Front: a small chip with paper loss on the right (outer) edge about halfway down, with white surface scuffing around it; diagonal crease lines across the lower right corner, which is rounded and worn, and a faint diagonal crease through the upper right near "MALE!"; small creases and white wear marks along the left (spine) edge near the top, and general light rubbing to the edges. Back: crease lines and small white rubs along the top edge at center, rubbing and a few creases along the bottom edge, and light wear at the upper right corner; the red color is otherwise strong. Inside: the same small chip shows at the outer edge of the first several leaves; the inside front cover (page 2) also has a diagonal crease across the upper left corner, faint bluish marks in the upper left margin, and light creasing at a softened lower left corner; on page 3 the first words of the editorial text are smudged and rubbed; the photo pages shown are clean with good contrast and color.
The story

Volume One, Number Six, the "1978 Edition" from House of Milan Corp. in Los Angeles, knows exactly what it is, and TAU's "Viewpoint" editorial says so in its opening line: "We don't claim to be anything else!" What follows is a surprisingly earnest sermon on obedience and the master and slave bond, closing with a reminder to be man enough to take responsibility for caring for your "slave." Then the readers take over in "Trips," with fantasies mailed in from Hollywood, England, Paris and San Diego, including one man's very detailed treatment for a rubber-jockstrap jack-off film.

The cover lists everything else: Rex Brandon and Paul Seton as "Super Hot Lovers," centerfold Gregg Strom as a "Fantastic New Discovery," the S&M fiction "Pleasure Bound," a "Nude Wrestling!" photo article, the "new 8 MM action film" Leather Lovers and Rob Davis, "Ex-Marine Super Turn-On!" Bishop gets the inside front cover to himself with a kneeling, muscled man in a ball gag, studded collar and a full set of straps beside a peaked leather cap, and the red back cover is a wall of reader personals, each one pointing to its page in the club listings.
